Introduction to Handgun Course
Introduction to Handgun Course is a 4 hour training course that is conducted on the gun range. Introduction to Handgun Course is specifically designed for people who have limited to no experience operating modern defensive handguns.
Introduction to Handgun Course
Instructors will cover the following topics during “Introduction to Handgun Course”:
- Properly loading and unloading magazines and speed loaders
- Safely loading and unloading firearms
- Proper handling and passing techniques
- Discussion on the controls
- Fundamentals of marksmanship
- Familiarization firing
- Accuracy analysis
- Firing controlled pairs
Introduction to Handgun Course is an excellent next step after completing your Concealed Handgun License Training Class. Instructors focus heavily on building each shooters confidence level by thoroughly explaining each skill we are teaching. This handgun introduction training class is run at a slower pace and class sizes are much smaller to give each shooter more 1 on 1 time with instructors and coaches.
Introduction to Handgun training course by itself will not work to obtain your Concealed Handgun License, however, it is a great training course to take in addition to your Concealed Handgun License training course. Introduction to Handgun training course will build the skills you need to advance to the Tactical Handgun 1 training course.
Each shooter is responsible for bringing the following items:
- Firearm
- 50 rounds of ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
- Valid form of photo ID
- Weather appropriate attire
- Snacks, lunch and water
Gear rentals are available upon request and cost an additional $50. Rentals include firearm, ammunition, eye protection and ear protection.
Note: Please ensure all firearms are unloaded and cased upon arrival for this course.
