Description

Defensive Handgun Tactics 2 Course near Bend and Redmond Oregon is 8-hours of intermediate-level handgun training at a shooting range.

Prior to taking the Defensive Handgun Tactics 2 course each student is required to complete our Defensive Handgun Tactics 1 course or an equivalent level 1 course through a reputable company and is able to demonstrate intermediate-level competency with a handgun.

Defensive Handgun Tactics 2 picks up where Defensive Handgun Tactics 1 left off.

Due to this, we are able to keep this class light on lecture and heavy on live-fire drills to rapidly increase the rounds fired over one day.

Our main focus in this class is movement, using the cover, and clearing malfunctions on the fly while utilizing cover and concealment.

It is a very active and fast-paced day that is designed to significantly increase each shooter’s proficiency using real-life scenario-based training.

We begin with a quick live-fire accuracy analysis to ensure students are still at a safe and competent level with respect to basic fundamentals and marksmanship.

Immediately following, we then focus on 4 step weapons presentation while moving offline of attack.

We then move straight into active reloads and malfunction clearing while moving offline of attack and utilizing cover.

The next segments of drills involve firing under stress and with an accelerated heart rate from standing, kneeling, and urban prone positions, in addition to how to properly fight back up to a standing position.

We also focus drills on moving towards a target and firing, moving away from a target and firing, and moving laterally and firing.

Another major aspect we cover is close quarters contact drills utilizing movement back away from and laterally away from the target since many uses of force encounters happen within a few feet of the shooter.

To ensure the safety and longevity of our students, we can work around most physical limitations (contact us if you have concerns about limitations).

We finish the course with culmination drills designed to incorporate skills that students have learned and covered during the course to include firing while moving at multiple targets then reloading from cover to engage more targets.

This class focuses on more realistic drills that better prepare students for the real-world situations they may find themselves in.
